Millie was a special person with great passion for people and her many interests. I have treasured memories of when we worked together at the Western Star. She always took everything in her stride and always had a happy smile. My deepest condolences to her family. Thinking of you all right now.

Sorry to hear of Millie’s passing. I always enjoyed her company when I lived out west. Her contribution to the Roma & District Family History Society, to which we both belonged, was enormous.

I contacted the Roma Historical Society in search of information about my mother’s family. I live in Powhatan, VA a world away. It was my great luck that Millie responded to me and through her research and diligence gave me so much information and insight on my family history. I visited Roma first in 2006 and again in 2019 and saw her both times.

The first visit we came together to bless the graves and their new markers I had placed on the graves of my grandmother and four of her children that had been unmarked, a fact which I had learned about from Millie. My heart had been broken by that. Millie connected me with the Town Council and they assisted me with orders for grave markers.

At the blessing Father John said good one on you , Linda, but it was Millie who made it come to be. Millie, my husband and I last visited with you at Pinaroo in 2019. We brought you a chocolate bar you enjoyed and we had great conversation.

We never knew of your love of country music or your other interesting life experiences. We watched the interment ceremony last night, and were in awe. We are so grateful to have known you and for all your help. Rest in peace dear lady.
    Paul and Linda Barnhart.
